Maryland political panel critiques Moore and Cox gubernatorial debate

A post-debate town hall held in Baltimore, co-organized by The Real News Network and Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle, featured a panel of political strategists and candidates critiquing the recent gubernatorial debate between Democratic incumbent Governor Wes Moore and Republican challenger Dan Cox.

Panelists characterized the October 6 debate as a display of “politics-as-usual” that failed to address perspectives excluded from dominant political discourse. The discussion highlighted the contrasting campaign strategies of the two candidates: Dan Cox focused on the rising costs of living, mismanagement, and the need to cut taxes and fees, while Governor Wes Moore emphasized his record on reducing teacher vacancies, improving education scores, and lowering violent crime rates, while also attempting to link his opponent to Donald Trump.
