Maryland reports six roadway fatalities in one week

Six people were killed in roadway crashes across Maryland between August 3 and August 9, 2026. The fatalities included three motorcyclists.

As of August 10, 2026, Maryland has recorded 243 roadway fatalities for the year, a decrease from the 288 fatalities reported during the same period in 2025. The Maryland Department of Transportation and Maryland State Police are urging motorists to practice safety measures, including obeying speed limits, avoiding distractions, and wearing seat belts, particularly during the summer travel season.
