Maryluz Rodríguez qualifies for Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games

Maryluz Rodríguez Ayala, a 15-year-old windsurfer from Yucatán, has qualified to represent Mexico at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. Her qualification follows her victory at the National Olympiad and a successful national qualifying event held in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, in March.

Rodríguez, who has been practicing windsurfing for three years after previously participating in swimming, will compete in the first edition of the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Africa. The event is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 13, 2026, and is expected to host over 2,700 young athletes.
