Marzan school launches bilingual French-Breton nursery class

A public nursery school in Marzan, located in southern Morbihan, has launched a bilingual French-Breton program this school year. The initiative at the Le Pigeon Vert school group follows the 2021 law regarding the protection and promotion of regional languages.

The inaugural class currently includes two students, aged two and a half and four years old. Teacher Zan Michat noted that the program involves 22 hours of Breton instruction per week, utilizing the natural cognitive advantages young children have for language acquisition.
