Marzena Malesza-Brzuszkiewicz shares journey of raising daughter with SMA

Marzena Malesza-Brzuszkiewicz, a former salsa instructor, shares her experience raising her daughter, Julia, who was diagnosed with the most severe form of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA 1) at seven weeks old.

Following the diagnosis, Malesza-Brzuszkiewicz transitioned into providing around-the-clock care and seeking access to pioneering medical treatments. Her story is part of the ‘Matki SMAków’ campaign, highlighting the challenges of the condition and the importance of community support.
