Marzocca kindergarten closed due to Legionella detection

The De Amicis kindergarten in Marzocca has been temporarily and immediately closed following the detection of Legionella bacteria within the facility. The decision was made by the mayor via ordinance after analytical results from the Prevention Department of the AST of Ancona confirmed the presence of the bacteria.

To protect the health of students and staff, access to the premises is prohibited until hygienic-sanitary conditions are fully restored. The municipality has ordered urgent disinfection, thermal shock, and complete water system treatment. Following these interventions, new microbiological sampling will be conducted to ensure no residual risks remain. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks. In the interim, students will be temporarily relocated to the Pieroni complex in Montignano.
