Masagua couple killed in fatal traffic accident before wedding

A multi-vehicle traffic accident in Guatemala has claimed the lives of a couple, Daniel Enrique Grande Bran, 25, and Angélica García, who were scheduled to be married this Sunday, September 20.

The collision occurred on the route between Escuintla and Masagua, involving a fuel tanker, two pickup trucks, and motorcycles. Daniel died at the scene, while Angélica passed away later at the Hospital General de Escuintla after being transported in critical condition.

The accident also resulted in several injuries, including a woman trapped in a vehicle and the driver of the fuel tanker. Emergency responders used chemical foam to manage a fuel spill caused by the impact. The community of Masagua has expressed deep mourning for the couple, noting that they were in the process of making final wedding preparations when the incident occurred.
