Masaharu Fukuyama Pays Tribute to Late Author Keigo Higashino on Radio

On July 1, Japanese actor‑singer Masaharu Fukuyama appeared on his Saturday night radio program “Fukuyama Masaharu Fuku no Radio” on Tokyo FM. He honored novelist Keigo Higashino, who died on July 23 at age 68, recalling personal memories and describing Higashino’s caring nature.

Fukuyama highlighted their long‑standing collaboration on Higashino’s “Galileo” mystery series, which he starred in for the 2007 TV drama, the 2008 film “The Devotion of Suspect X,” and later adaptations. He also mentioned the recent release of “Black Showman and the Nameless Town Murder,” a novel Higashino wrote after Fukuyama expressed interest in playing a dark hero. The tribute concluded with Fukuyama’s post on X, where he called himself “one of the residents of Higashino’s works” and pledged to continue being moved by the author’s stories.
