Masaharu Fukuyama reflects on late novelist Keigo Higashino

Singer and actor Masaharu Fukuyama shared reflections on his relationship with the late novelist Keigo Higashino during an appearance on the program ‘EIGHT-JAM’. Fukuyama, who stars in the ‘Galileo’ film series based on Higashino’s works, revealed heartfelt words received from the author prior to his passing.

Fukuyama discussed the theme song ‘Hitotsuboshi’, which he composed for the third film in the series, ‘Silent Parade’. Higashino had expressed surprise and admiration for the song’s lyrical perspective, noting that while most stories focus on those left behind, the song provided a unique ‘viewpoint of the deceased’. Fukuyama expressed that being recognized by the original author for such a creative approach was deeply meaningful.

In a separate radio segment on ‘Fukuyama Masaharu Fuku no Radio’, Fukuyama reacted to a listener's story about a 30-year friendship. Two individuals who bonded in high school by sharing cassette tapes and CDs of Fukuyama’s radio broadcasts recently attended his concert at Kyocera Dome Osaka together. Fukuyama expressed gratitude, stating it is a ‘happy thing’ to serve as a source of energy and courage for his listeners.
