Masaharu Fukuyama sets solo male record with number-one album

Masaharu Fukuyama’s latest album, ‘Choushinsei’ (Supernova), debuted at number one on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking for the week ending September 13, 2026. This marks his 13th number-one album, setting a new record for the most number-one albums by a solo male artist. The album, his first original release in nearly six years, sold 113,000 copies in its first week.

In the same Oricon weekly rankings, the group SixTONES secured the top spot on the singles chart with ‘Dance Forever/My Only’. This achievement marks the group’s 17th consecutive number-one single.
