Masahito Morishita struggles with wins despite low ERA in August

Hiroshima Toyo Carp pitcher Masahito Morishita has faced difficult results despite strong individual performances in August. During the program ‘Professional Baseball News 2026’, analyst Hiroki Nomura noted that while Morishita maintained a 2.17 ERA and recorded quality starts in all four of his August appearances, he finished with a 1-3 record.

Nomura attributed this discrepancy to a lack of run support and instances where Morishita allowed runs that failed to translate into wins. In his most recent outing against Yakult, Morishita pitched six innings and allowed three runs, but ultimately took his ninth loss of the season.
