Masashi Kishimoto announces new Naruto manga and anime projects

During New York Comic Con on October 10, 2026, it was announced that Masashi Kishimoto is working on a new manga within the Naruto franchise. The project is described as a direct continuation of the original story. Early sketches released during the announcement feature the original Team Seven—Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi—at different stages of their lives. One sketch depicts Naruto lifting the Hokage hat near the Hidden Leaf Village monument, suggesting the timeline follows the main events of the original manga.

Additionally, a new anime project was revealed, which will feature a crossover with the manga Ninku, created by Koji Kiriyama. A teaser for the anime has been released, showing a glimpse of the two universes meeting. While specific plot details and publication dates remain unconfirmed, further information is expected to be revealed during Jump Festa 2027 in Japan on December 19 and 20, 2026.
