Masatoshi Hamada hosts Kakuzuke Check Autumn Special

ABC Television and TV Asahi will broadcast the “Kakuzuke Check Autumn 3.5-Hour Special” on September 26. Hosted by Masatoshi Hamada, the variety program features 17 celebrities competing in high-stakes challenges to distinguish between top-tier items and inferior substitutes.

Challenges include identifying world-class cocktails, authentic lion dances from Toyama Prefecture, Stradivarius violins, and professional jazz sessions featuring vocalist Dream Ami. A unique segment involves a jazz session where a comedian performs a bass imitation using only vocal mimicry.

The final challenge features a beef curry prepared by host Masatoshi Hamada. Known as a “cooking amateur,” Hamada’s culinary attempts are designated as the “absolutely impossible” option; any team that selects his dish is deemed “not worth showing” and removed from the competition.
