MaserGrup acquires Skjodt-Barrett third-party manufacturing business
MaserGrup, a food industry firm based in Reus, Spain, has acquired 100% of Skjodt-Barrett’s third-party manufacturing business in the United States and Canada. The deal focuses on pouch-format products, including baby food and healthy snacks.
The acquisition includes production assets in Lebanon, Indiana, comprising a 130,000 square meter industrial complex with a 50,000 square meter production plant. Skjodt-Barrett will be renamed SBFoods and will operate under the Fruselva umbrella. This move establishes MaserGrup as the leading third-party manufacturer of pouch products in North America, doubling its market presence.
Skjodt-Barrett currently generates over $150 million in revenue and produces more than 300 million units annually. The transaction maintains the existing workforce of 350 professionals in the U.S. and 10 in Canada, with plans to hire approximately 100 new employees in Indiana to support growth. MaserGrup aims to reach a turnover of over 400 million euros by 2027.
