Mashatu Game Reserve launches youth wildlife programme

The Mashatu Game Reserve in eastern Botswana has introduced the Kids@ Mashatu Programme, a series of educational activities designed for children aged 4 to 12. The program aims to engage younger travelers with the African bush through hands-on exploration and wildlife discovery.

Activities include Bush Discovery Walks and Micro Safaris, where children work with rangers to identify trees, birds, insects, and reptiles. The curriculum also features interactive elements such as Ranger Games, animal trivia, and tracking exercises to teach children how to recognize animal prints and spoor.

The reserve, which spans 42,000 hectares, utilizes an experienced guiding team with an average tenure of 14 years to facilitate these learning experiences.
