Mashhad: Afghan national confesses to fatal stabbing in park

A 22-year-old Afghan national, identified as Mostafa-K, has confessed to the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old compatriot, Mehdi-Y, in Gol Ara Park, Mashhad. The incident occurred on August 21 following a violent dispute involving foreign nationals.

According to judicial reports, the victim sustained a blade wound to his left shoulder and later died at Imam Sajjad Charity Hospital. Following an investigation led by Judge Vahid Khakshur and detectives from the criminal department, authorities arrested Mostafa-K at his residence.

During a crime scene reconstruction at the park, the suspect claimed the motive was long-standing resentment. Mostafa-K stated that in April, the victim had attempted to assault him, an incident he claimed to have resisted. He alleged that after being spotted in the park by associates of the victim, he retrieved a knife to carry out the attack.
