Iranian Army issues statement on return of prisoners of war

The Islamic Republic of Iran Army issued a statement commemorating the anniversary of the return of prisoners of war (Azadegan) to Iran. The military described the event as a manifestation of the Iranian people's unyielding will and a victory of spirit over captivity.

In the statement, the Army asserted that it has reached a position of authority based on the legacy of martyrs and the experiences of veterans, claiming that any threat against its defensive barrier of faith and expertise will be ineffective. The military emphasized that the younger generation learns loyalty to the nation and the leadership from the heroism of these veterans.

Additionally, personal accounts from veterans, such as Jahambakhsh Yavari, highlighted the resilience maintained during captivity in Iraqi camps like Mosul 4. Veterans described creating a structured community within the camps, including cultural, educational, and religious activities, to maintain their morale and connection to Iranian society.
