Masinde Muliro University reappoints Solomon Shibairo as Vice Chancellor

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) has announced the reappointment of Professor Solomon Igosangwa Shibairo as Vice Chancellor for a second five-year term.

The university stated that Shibairo’s initial term was characterized by efforts to strengthen the institution's academic and research agendas, specifically reinforcing a commitment to science, technology, research, and innovation.

Shibairo’s academic background includes degrees from the University of Nairobi and a PhD in Plant Science from the University of British Columbia in Canada. His previous leadership roles include serving as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Nairobi and holding deputy leadership positions at Kibabii University College.
