Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd to star in 'Crawl 2' sequel

Paramount and director Alexandre Aja are moving forward with 'Crawl 2', the sequel to the 2019 horror hit 'Crawl'. The film will star Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd in the lead roles.

While the original film was set in Florida during a hurricane, the sequel moves the setting to a partially submerged New York City following a similar catastrophic event. Production is scheduled to begin later this month in Hungary.

The screenplay was co-written by Aja, Andrew Deutschman, Jason Pagan, and Gregory Levasseur, with Sam Raimi returning as a producer. The original film was a significant commercial success, earning $91 million worldwide on a $13 million budget.
