Mason Taylor likely to miss Jets Week 3 game against Lions

New York Jets tight end Mason Taylor is expected to miss the upcoming Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions due to a thumb injury. Taylor sustained the injury during the Jets' Week 2 overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers.

According to reports from NFL Media, the injury is considered “week-to-week,” suggesting the player will not be sidelined for an extended period. Taylor, the son of Hall of Fame player Jason Taylor, was a second-round draft pick in 2025 and is currently in his second professional season.

After a productive rookie year, Taylor has had a slow start to the 2026 season, recording minimal yardage in Week 1 and zero catches before exiting the game against Green Bay.
