Mason Thames and Ella Bright to star in Sony comedy Narcs

Mason Thames and Ella Bright have been cast as the leads in Narcs, a new coming-of-age comedy from Sony Pictures. The project marks the directorial debut of John Phillips, known for writing R-rated comedies such as ‘No Hard Feelings’ and ‘Good Boys’.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, the script was penned by Jordan and Justin Shipley, with rewrites by Phillips and producer Gene Stupnitsky. The film is being produced under the Big Name Entertainment banner, with Robert Lamonaca serving as an executive producer alongside Phillips, Joseph Micucci, and Andy Davis.

For Thames, known for ‘The Black Phone’ and the live-action ‘How to Train Your Dragon’, this role follows a string of high-profile projects. Ella Bright, recognized for her work in the Prime Video series ‘Off Campus’, lands her first major studio feature role through this production.
