Telefónica cuts H1 loss 75% and posts revenue growth

Telefónica reported first‑half 2026 revenue of €16.392 billion, up 1.7% year‑on‑year, driven mainly by Spain and Brazil. Adjusted EBITDA reached €5.768 billion, a 3.8% increase. The company posted an attributable net loss of €338 million, a 75% reduction from the €1.355 billion loss in the same period of 2025. The loss reflects a €1.001 billion impact from the sale of its Chile operation and a €265 million provision for the restructuring of its German subsidiary. Excluding these extraordinary items, continuing‑operations profit was €474 million. Telefónica confirmed a dividend of €0.15 per share for 2026 and raised its adjusted operating cash‑flow target after leases to growth above 3% for the year. The results were positively received by analysts, who noted solid performance across key markets and the company’s raised cash‑flow outlook.
