Masoud Dehnamaki to release AI-generated film on Flight 655

Director Masoud Dehnamaki is in the final stages of producing ‘Flight 655’, a cinematic project that will be created entirely using artificial intelligence technology. The film is one of the first major attempts to produce a full-length feature film using AI capabilities to recreate characters, settings, and historical atmospheres.

The movie focuses on the tragic downing of Iran Air Flight 655, which occurred on July 3, 1988. The aircraft was traveling from Bandar Abbas to Dubai when it was targeted by the USS Vincennes over the Persian Gulf, resulting in the deaths of all 290 passengers and crew.

Although the production permit was granted two years ago, the project faced delays due to regional conflicts and production challenges. There is a possibility that the film will be ready for screening at the 45th Fajr International Film Festival.
