Masoud Pezeshkian calls for government fuel savings

During a cabinet meeting chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Iranian government addressed fuel consumption and economic challenges. Pezeshkian emphasized that efforts to save gasoline must begin with government agencies and state-owned institutions. He instructed officials to plan for reducing the use of government vehicles and minimizing unnecessary travel to manage resources effectively.

In the same session, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stated that the administration is focusing its efforts on alleviating economic difficulties. The cabinet also discussed several administrative and security matters, including reports on the Strait of Hormuz and border coordination at the Bazargan border to facilitate customs and transit.

Additionally, the cabinet officially expressed opposition to a report from the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission regarding a plan to counter the influence of foreign intelligence services. The government cited concerns that the plan could impose scientific restrictions and accelerate the migration of elite talent, leading to negative domestic and international repercussions.
