Masoud Pezeshkian holds seven-hour meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian revealed that he held a seven-hour meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to discuss critical administrative, economic, and governmental issues facing the country. This marks the second meeting between the President and the Supreme Leader in the seven months since Pezeshkian took office.

Pezeshkian stated that Iran's primary challenges are not a lack of resources or potential, but rather a shortage of competent individuals and the failure to effectively implement correct decisions. He criticized the management of certain state-owned companies, suggesting their current operations do not constitute proper management and highlighting a need for governance reforms.

The President also noted difficulties in high-level appointments, explaining that the government's attempts to assign responsibilities to suitable candidates are sometimes hindered by objections from the judiciary or other institutions.

Following the death of Ayatollah Khamenei in attacks by the US and Israel on February 29, his son Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed Supreme Leader. He has not yet appeared publicly via video or audio, with his statements currently being read on state television.
