MASP hosts 8th Semana Paulista de Dança with free performances

The Museu de Arte de São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (MASP) is hosting the 8th edition of the Semana Paulista de Dança from September 16 to 20. The event features 12 free performances designed to engage both dance professionals and the general public.

The program includes diverse styles and perspectives, such as “Piquenique, variações amorosas” by the Marcia Milhazes Companhia de Dança, which features a unique set designed by artist Beatriz Milhazes. Other highlights include tributes to Caetano Veloso, contemporary reinterpretations of the waltz, works inspired by Japanese immigrants in Brazil, and a Latin American approach to Bizet’s “Carmen”.

For the first time, the event will also include a discussion on the Brazilian dance scene on September 20, bringing together artists and professionals to discuss the industry.
