Azerbaijan oil export to Czech Republic climbs as prices surge

In July 2026, crude from Azerbaijan labeled “Azeri Light” saw its CIF price at Italy’s Augusta port rise by $6.97 per barrel (7.64%) to $98.19, while the FOB price at Turkey’s Ceyhan port increased by $7.23 (8.32%) to $94.12. The price gains were linked to heightened concerns over regional tensions that could disrupt global energy supplies.

During the same period, Azerbaijan’s oil export value to the Czech Republic grew by $47.8 million, a 10.6% increase to $497.4 million, although the shipped volume fell 16.6% to 705.8 kilotonnes. Overall, the country exported $6.231 billion worth of oil and oil products worldwide in the first half of the year. Italy remained the top importer, followed by the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, underscoring Azerbaijan’s role as a strategic energy supplier to Europe.
