Mass protests in Albania demand Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation

Large-scale demonstrations have continued in Albania for around ten days, with hundreds of thousands of citizens taking to the streets and squares to call for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Protesters allege corruption and demand a new government.

Adriatik Riza Dosti, a public figure, criticised the lack of response from Albanian institutions, accusing President Bajram Begaj, the parliament and security services of remaining silent. He urged international support for the protests and highlighted the perceived political pressure on Albanian communities abroad.
