Carlentini hosts Leone d’Argento awards for Sicilian excellence

The XXI edition of the national “Leone d’Argento” awards will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Piazza Diaz, Carlentini.

A central highlight of the ceremony is the presentation of the “Francesco Favara Adorni” Prize for Sicilianità. This honor will be awarded to four individuals recognized for their contributions to the culture and identity of Sicily through their professional work:

• Emma D’Aquino, a prominent journalist for RAI and TG1. • Margareth Madè, an actress with a career spanning cinema, television, and theater. • Andrea Palmieri, an additional prosecutor at the Court of Siracusa. • Stefania Bruno, a sand artist known for combining visual imagery with music and emotion.

The evening will also feature musical performances, including a contribution from tenor Piero Mazzocchetti, and will be hosted by Salvo La Rosa.
