Massa Marittima Mayor denies request for names of delinquent taxpayers

The Mayor of Massa Marittima, Irene Marconi, has denied a request from opposition councilors Gabriele Poli and Giovanni Mazzocco to provide a list of names of citizens, businesses, and associations in debt to the municipality. The councilors had requested a nominative list of delinquent taxpayers covering a ten-year period.

Mayor Marconi stated that while the municipal council's oversight function is important, the administration cannot provide personal data due to privacy laws regarding sensitive information. She emphasized that the municipality is willing to provide aggregated data regarding the total amount of credits and collection methods, which would allow councilors to fulfill their mandate without violating the privacy of individuals and families.
