Massachusetts administration reports progress in safety initiatives

The Healey-Driscoll administration in Massachusetts has reported significant progress in two major public safety and workforce initiatives.

The SafetyWorks initiative, launched by the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, has provided free safety consultations to over 42,450 workers. Additionally, the program has awarded $800,000 in grants to support safety training for more than 6,550 employees. The program aims to help both public and private sector employers identify workplace hazards and implement proactive safety measures.

Separately, the administration has expanded its statewide joint active shooter response training. So far this year, more than 1,000 police, fire, and EMS professionals have completed the Active Attack Integrated Response (AAIR) courses. These training sessions, which include classroom instruction and realistic scenarios, are designed to ensure coordinated responses among various emergency services during a crisis.
