Massachusetts early voting continues ahead of September 1 primary

Early voting is currently underway across Massachusetts ahead of the state primary election scheduled for September 1, 2026. The election includes statewide positions such as U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, and District Attorney.

In Boston, early voting locations include sites in Dorchester, Mattapan, and Boston City Hall. Notable contests on the Democratic primary ballot include the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Ed Markey and Congressman Seth Moulton. While Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll are running unopposed in the Democratic primary, the Republican side features a contest between Michael Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve for the gubernatorial nomination.

Various municipalities are concluding their early voting periods on August 28. In New Bedford, voting is available at the Main Public Library, while towns such as Acushnet and Fairhaven have specific designated locations and hours for residents to cast their ballots before the primary.
