Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey leads in pre-election poll

A UMass Amherst / WCVB poll released on Monday shows Governor Maura Healey maintaining a lead in the Massachusetts gubernatorial race two weeks before Election Day. According to the survey of 800 registered voters, 56% would reelect Healey, while Republican challenger Mike Minogue holds 31% support. Independent candidate Andrea James has 5% support, and 7% of respondents remain undecided.

Cost of living (42%) and taxes (32%) were identified as the primary factors motivating voters. While 55% of respondents believe Healey kept her promise to protect abortion rights, voters expressed more division regarding her performance on tax cuts, cost of living, and affordable housing. Specifically, 56% of those polled stated she broke her campaign pledge regarding cutting taxes.

Despite these divisions, Healey leads her opponents in voter trust across all polled issues, including healthcare, education, crime, housing, and immigration.
