Massachusetts hosts various cultural festivals in October 2026

Several cultural events are scheduled to take place in Massachusetts in October 2026. The 21st annual HONK! street brass band festival will run from October 9 to 11, featuring over 33 bands in Somerville and Cambridge. The festival includes a photo exhibit at Somerville City Hall on October 8, lantern-making workshops, and a parade from Davis Square to Harvard Square on Sunday to promote themes of environmental protection and social justice.

On October 12, the Fenway Cultural District will host its 25th Opening Our Doors Festival. This free event includes activities at Symphony Hall, the Huntington Theatre, and MassArt. Additionally, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, will offer free admission to Massachusetts residents for its Indigenous Peoples’ Day Open House, featuring cultural programming, workshops, and performances by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers.
