Massachusetts Lottery launches online platform to boost revenue and fund childcare

The Massachusetts State Lottery unveiled Mass Lottery Online, a digital sales and gameplay platform for players aged 21 and older. The service offers more than 20 new "eInstant" games that simulate scratch tickets, along with existing draw‑based games such as Mass Cash, Megabucks, Mega Millions, Powerball and Millionaire for Life. State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg said the launch is intended to keep the Lottery competitive and to direct additional revenue toward a grant program for early childhood education and care. Executive Director Mark William Bracken highlighted the Lottery’s long‑standing performance and the new platform’s ability to provide the same standards and prize structures as retail tickets. The online system includes optional deposit and play limits, a session timer and regular reminders to promote responsible gambling. Profits from online sales will be returned to the Commonwealth to support the early‑childhood education grant, complementing the Lottery’s existing annual revenue of over $1 billion.
