Massachusetts voters to decide nine ballot questions in November election

Massachusetts voters will face nine ballot questions during the November 3, 2026, election. Questions 1 through 8 are proposed laws via initiative petition, covering topics such as expanding public records laws to include the Governor’s Office and the legislature, collective bargaining for public defenders, state primary election systems, and election day voter registration. Question 9 is a referendum on an existing law.

In addition to ballot questions, the election will include candidates for state and national offices, as well as positions for the Martha’s Vineyard Commission and the Dukes County Commission. The League of Women Voters is scheduled to host a candidate forum for countywide offices on October 13 at the Edgartown library.

Local updates for Aquinnah include a call for skilled workers to assist in the construction of a new playground and basketball court starting October 19, and a change in operating hours for the Aquinnah Cultural Center, which will move to Saturday-only service beginning October 17.
