Massachusetts voters to receive guides for complex election ballot

Massachusetts voters will soon receive voter information guides, known as the ‘Red Book,’ ahead of the upcoming general election. Secretary of State William Galvin has urged citizens to review the 88-page document, noting that the nine ballot referendums included are among the most numerous and complex ever to appear on a state ballot.

The referendums cover a wide range of topics, including public records law, tax revenue redirection for conservation, and primary election structures. Notably, Question 8 involves the potential repeal of recreational cannabis legalization, while Question 9 concerns the 2024 firearms law.

In addition to these ballot questions, the election will feature a gubernatorial race between incumbent Governor Maura Healey and Republican challenger Mike Minogue.
