Massad Boulos visits Algeria to strengthen security and energy ties

Massad Boulos, the U.S. presidential advisor for Africa and the Middle East, visited Algiers to strengthen bilateral ties with Algeria. During his visit, Boulos met with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, and Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf.

The discussions focused on three primary pillars: regional security, economic cooperation, and energy. Boulos described Algeria as a “key actor” in bolstering security within the Maghreb and Sahel regions.

On the economic front, meetings were held with the CEO of Sonatrach, Noureddine Daoudi, to discuss ways to consolidate energy cooperation. The U.S. diplomatic mission stated the visit reaffirms the commitment of both nations to work toward regional peace, security, and expanded commercial relations.
