Massi family considers stepping down from Sambenedettese leadership

The Massi family, owners of the Sambenedettese football club, have issued a statement indicating they are prepared to step down and make way for new governance. The family highlighted their history of managing clubs, including leading Porto D’Ascoli from the First Category to Serie D and assisting Sambenedettese’s rise to Serie C.

The statement addressed several points of tension, including criticisms of local municipal administration for a perceived lack of economic and bureaucratic support. Regarding financial management, the owners noted that their balance sheets are public and subject to audit, while acknowledging that some past decisions may have been incorrect.

Issues regarding sports facilities were also raised. The family is seeking approval for the Ciarrocchi sports center project as a subsidized credit resolution is nearing expiration. Additionally, they announced that legal counsel will evaluate an appeal regarding the Merlini field tender, following a technical error on a digital portal that resulted in an erroneous 1,000 euro offer.
