Andrea Abodi rejects FIGC commissioner hypothesis
Italian Sports Minister Andrea Abodi has addressed the possibility of a commissioner being appointed to the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Speaking in Milan, Abodi stated that the hypothesis of a FIGC takeover is not a political move and characterized such claims as a “mortification of CONI” (Italian National Olympic Committee).
Abodi emphasized that the current situation involving FIGC President Giovanni Malagò should not disrupt sporting projects. He clarified that national team coach Luciano Mancini is not under scrutiny and should be able to work with tranquility, noting that the coach's future is not tied to the federation president's position. The Minister maintained that the responsibility for any decision lies with the CONI governing bodies and urged against politicizing the matter to avoid unnecessary confusion within the football system.
