Massimiliano Allegri hired as Napoli coach with three‑year contract

Massimiliano Allegri has been appointed as the new head coach of Napoli following Antonio Conte's departure. According to journalist Paolo Del Genio, Napoli initially contacted six other candidates—including Sarri, Italiano, Farioli, Iraola, Maresca and Fabregas—before deciding on Allegri as a safer, more experienced option.

The club expects to formalise Allegri's contract, known as the "fumata bianca," by 16 June. The agreement will run for three years with a salary of €3.5 million per season, totalling over €10 million, slightly lower than his previous €5.3 million annual wage but higher in aggregate. Negotiations involve Napoli's management and Allegri's agent, with discussions about finalising staff details and the financial terms linked to his former club Milan.
