Napoli under new coach Allegri maps out season goals and squad strategy

Massimiliano Allegri has taken charge of Napoli and is laying out a plan that builds on an already strong core. The preseason will start with player medicals in Castelvolturno (13‑14 July) followed by a training camp in Dimaro from 17 July, with a series of friendly matches scheduled. The club, celebrating its centenary, has already spent about €60 million to make the squad permanent, including the acquisition of Hojlund.

Former players and officials emphasise the importance of retaining youth talent. Antonio Vergara, a product of Napoli’s academy, is highlighted as a key asset to develop, while the potential departure of Lukaku could trigger the search for another striker. The overall ambition, voiced by commentators such as Fausto Pizzi and Alessandro Calori, is for Napoli to challenge for the Serie A title and compete with clubs like Inter and Roma under Allegri’s emphasis on technical continuity.

Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is also focusing on infrastructure projects, including a new stadium, as part of the broader plan to raise Napoli’s competitive profile.
