Massimo Botti discusses Germany-Poland volleyball quarterfinal

Germany's national volleyball team head coach Massimo Botti has commented on the upcoming European Championship quarterfinal match against Poland. Botti, who previously coached in Poland's PlusLiga for Bogdanka LUK Lublin and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, expressed that competing against his former players is a great pleasure.

Botti praised the quality of the Polish squad, stating, “Poland is currently probably the best team in the world.” He noted that while his German side enters the match as underdogs, they intend to play their own game. The match follows Germany's recent comeback victory against Bulgaria in Sofia, where they secured a win after trailing 0-2 in sets.

The upcoming clash will feature several players Botti knows well from his time in the Polish league, including Wilfredo Leon, Marcin Komenda, and Kewin Sasaki. The winner of this matchup will advance to the final stage of the tournament in Milan.
