Catania signs record-breaking striker Massimo Coda

Catania has secured a major signing for their Serie C campaign with the arrival of Massimo Coda. The 38-year-old striker, who holds the record for most goals in Serie B history with 144, joins the club as a free agent following his departure from Sampdoria. Coda is expected to serve as the primary center-forward in manager Emilio Longo’s 4-3-3 formation.

Coda will watch from the stands during Catania’s season opener against Inter U23 at the Massimino stadium. The club is also reportedly working on strengthening the midfield, with players like Emanuele Torrasi and Fabrizio Caligara being targeted.

In separate news, Catania has demonstrated support for player Salvatore Aloi. Despite the club's challenging financial situation, the organization chose to extend Aloi’s contract to ensure he receives medical treatment following a serious knee injury, rather than exercising a contract termination clause.
