Massimo Giletti and Fedez exchange insults over journalistic integrity

Italian journalist Massimo Giletti and rapper Fedez have engaged in a public dispute following a confrontation in Milan. The conflict escalated after a reporter for the Rai 3 program ‘Lo Stato delle Cose’ approached Fedez on the street to ask for comments regarding recent unrest in Milan. Fedez refused to answer, instead directing personal attacks at Giletti, stating, “Whether you agree with me or not, Giletti is scum” (translated from ‘feccia’).

The rapper accused the program of unfair reporting and previously alleging collusion with organized crime groups, specifically the ‘ndrangheta’ and the mafia, in relation to his associations with certain Milan football ultras. Fedez also noted that a previous defamation lawsuit he filed against the program had been archived by the Court of Milan.

During a broadcast of ‘Lo Stato delle Cose’, Giletti responded to the insults by targeting Fedez’s social circles. He remarked, “I may be scum, but you frequent the scum,” referring to the rapper’s associations with individuals involved in criminal investigations. Giletti defended his investigative work, stating it is not his problem if inquiries into organized crime uncover suspicious connections involving those close to the singer.
