Massimo Rastelli appointed head coach of Italian club Bari

SSC Bari announced the appointment of former Napoli forward Massimo Rastelli as the club's new technical manager. The contract runs until June 2027 with an option to extend if the team achieves promotion. Rastelli replaces Moreno Longo, who was dismissed after Bari's relegation to Serie C following a 17th‑place finish and a play‑out defeat to Südtirol.

Rastelli, born in 1968 in Torre del Greco, began his coaching career after a playing stint as a striker. He guided Juve Stabia to promotion in 2009‑10, later managed Brindisi, Portogruaro and Avellino, leading Avellino to Serie B promotion and a Supercoppa di Lega Pro title. In 2015 he took over Cagliari, winning the Serie B championship and securing Serie A survival the following season. He has also coached Cremonese and returned to Avellino before accepting Bari's offer. The club noted, "SSC Bari gives a warm welcome to Massimo Rastelli," and expects him to restore the team to higher divisions.
