Massive Soleimani Funeral Highlights Iran‑Iraq Solidarity

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a message to the people, clerics, scholars, tribal leaders and youth of Iraq thanking them for hosting the large‑scale funeral of the martyr known as the “standard‑bearer of resistance.” The procession, attended by tens of millions in both Iraq and Iran, was described as a clear sign of brotherhood and unity between the two nations and as a failure of hostile forces that tried to sow division.

Khamenei said the massive turnout marks “a new chapter of awakening and role‑playing to change the equations set by the oppressors,” emphasizing that the gathering demonstrates the enduring spiritual and cultural ties forged since the historic Arbaʿeen pilgrimages and the fall of the Baʿath regime.
