Masséo, former Star Academy contestant, announces job at McDonald’s

Masséo Gayez-Banzept, a former contestant from season 12 of the French musical competition Star Academy, has announced he will begin working at McDonald’s to support his music career.

The announcement follows online criticism regarding his decision to sell a Star Academy branded jacket on the resale platform Vinted for 30 euros. In response to social media backlash, Masséo addressed his followers on TikTok, explaining his financial situation and the high costs associated with producing music and filming videos.

Now 20 years old, the singer has released seven singles since his elimination in 2024. He emphasized that despite his television exposure, he faces significant financial precariousness and is seeking various ways to fund his professional musical ambitions.
