Massport Extends Logan Remote Terminal in Framingham Through March
Massport announced that the Logan Airport remote terminal in Framingham, which opened on June 1, will remain in operation until at least March of next year. The pilot, which lets Delta and JetBlue passengers complete TSA screening and check baggage in Framingham before a shuttle ride to Logan, served more than 10,000 travelers in its first two months, prompting Massport CEO Rich Davey to describe the service as a "success" and to note growing weekly demand.
Mayor Charlie Sisitsky of Framingham and passengers praised the convenience and reduced stress of avoiding Boston traffic. Massport plans to expand the terminal’s hours, add more shuttle trips, and eventually open the facility to additional airlines such as United. A permanent remote terminal is also slated for construction in Braintree, with an estimated opening in about two and a half years.
