Mastel urges global digital platforms to fund Indonesia's digital infrastructure
The Indonesian Telematics Society (Mastel) is urging global digital platforms, also known as Over-the-Top (OTT) services, to contribute to the development of Indonesia's national digital infrastructure.
Mastel Chairman Sarwoto Atmosutarno stated that while global platforms drive economic growth and service innovation, the heavy burden of increasing digital infrastructure investment currently falls primarily on the telecommunications industry. He emphasized that building a digital ecosystem should not be the responsibility of a single sector, particularly as global platforms rely heavily on existing telecommunications networks.
